Outreach
First Tech Challenge
Our robotics team traveled to large science events around San Diego to spread awareness about STEM and encourage students to get involved in robotics. At each event, kids were excited to see our robot in action, and many asked us how they could start their own team. We used these opportunities to explain the basics of robotics, share resources, and show students that anyone can get involved. Some of the events we participated in include Space Day, Fleet Week, the Miramar Airshow, the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering, and the Super STEM Expo at CSU San Marcos. Through these outreach activities, we helped inspire young students and support the growth of STEM programs in our community.

Lightbulb Initiative
I serve as the co-president for a school club and non-profit organization, The Lightbulb Initiative, which brings STEM and robotics education to underprivileged children in India. Each week, we meet with students to teach topics such as programming, CAD, and basic circuit logic, giving them hands-on experience with skills they would not otherwise have access to. Through this work, I saw firsthand the effects of the digital divide, many students rely on outdated devices or limited internet, yet they remain eager to learn. Despite these challenges, our program has made a meaningful impact: students who began with no exposure to robotics can now design simple mechanisms, write code independently, and understand the foundations of engineering. Seeing their confidence grow and knowing that our lessons open doors to future opportunities has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
